Happy One Month Emmalyn June

Miss Emmalyn turns one month old today. Oh my how the time has just flown by. I guess having three Johnson "littles" helps a bit with that. :) So let me tell you  a little more about our sweet girl. As you can see she's just beautiful with all of that dark hair and those pretty blue eyes, although I might be a little biased since she is mine.

Things Miss Emmalyn Adores:
Sleeping- she has been doing this since birth and is really good at it. ;)
Nursing- Out of all three of my children she has been the best at it.
Baths- She loves the warm water and I think the noise of it running is comforting to her.
Sounds of the Ocean- I know this may sound weird, but when I can't get her to sleep at night I have an Ipad app with sounds of the ocean. It works like a charm.
Pink- she absolutely adores anything pink, and looks so cute in it too.
OK I'll admit I <3 pink, but she doesn't seem to mind it! ;)
Her brothers- She loves it when they talk to her and read to her. She can be fussy and if one of them pays her any mind she perks right up.  They sure love her too.

Things Miss Emmalyn Detests:
Getting dressed: Although she loves baths she hates getting dressed.
The absolute dark: She likes to have a light to look at.
Pacifiers: Much to my dismay she won't take one. I have tried just about every brand they make.

All in all she is a pretty happy girl and doesn't complain about much. She is a very calm, laid back baby. We are very blessed to have her in our lives. Happy One Month Miss Emmalyn June. Mommy, Daddy, Kaden, and David love you to the moon!

Ladies Night Out

Last night Emmalyn and I attended "Ladies Night Out" here in Judson at The Carpenter's Yard. This was her first public outing, and I was just a bit nervous about it. I am so glad I decided to go, thanks Laura for the invite, because I was so encouraged and blessed by the words and work of the women who put it together.

I often feel that I miss the mark when it comes to living up to the Proverbs 31 woman. It was such a blessing to me to see the verse acted out in a skit. Often times even though we miss the mark in one area we can truly hit it in others. I am so very thankful that I serve a patient God, that is teaching me daily to be a wife and mother who seeks after Him. Thank you Lord for renewing me, giving me a new name, and making me a new creation. I screw this motherhood thing up more than I would even like to admit but God's grace covers. His mercies are new EVERY morning. Praise the Lord. So if yesterday I had a short temper, lost my cool, and felt like I totally blew it: today I get another chance, a fresh start, a new beginning. Thank you Lord for that.

I am so looking foward to a lot more of these mother/daughter outings. Before Emmalyn I was dreaming that I may be able to convince the boys to go on coffee dates, chick flicks, and shopping excursions with me. Dreaming! lol.  Now they won't have to. :) I will still take them on dates just not such girl oriented ones. K's favorite dates right now involve icecream and bike riding. With this nice weather we've been having we've been able to still do both! D doesn't have a favorite quite yet, any date that involves David/Mommy time is fine with him. I am sure the boys will be so upset to be left out of facials, manicures, and pedicures. Bummer. lol.  What are some of your children's favorite "dates"?

P.S. excuse the quality of above photo, Joel snapped it with the Ipad before we walked out the door. Although, I am starting to really adore snapshots of our daily life. Not just the "picture perfect" moments, but the shots in between are my favorite!!

Happy Valentine's Day

"What I love most about my home is who I share it with."
Hope that you and the "loves" in your life have a wonderful Valentine's Day. I am beyond blessed to have such a wonderful husband and three beautiful children. Thank you Lord for them. I pray I cherish them everyday, not just on holidays. Happy Valentine's Day!

You + Me & The Three

Week one at home alone with three children was not at all what I expected it to be. I expected Joel to walk in the door with toys all over the floor, my hair in a pony tail and my makeup disheveled, the baby crying, and the phone ringing. lol. None of this is even remotely what happened (well maybe I did sport the pony-tail a few days ;) ) I ended up being able to go on with our normal routine. Breakfast, nap times, story time, Lunchtime, bath time, bedtime, and I even got a chance to shower myself. I know that it won't always be like this. Little Miss E is just a week old and sleeps most of the day away.I will post more on that sweet little topic later next week. I am just thanking God for my blessings. Here are a few pics of the week described! :)

Little Miss E's cord came off. At first I was so sad as I have been with both our boys. That means that they aren't new. lol. Joel laughs, "a week old isn't new?" He's so right. She is still very new. Then I was also thankful because her little belly was starting to stink. Bath time it was!!! Here is a picture of her first bath.

Her brothers are so interested in everything she does. So here is a little onlooker at bath time. I barely had room to bathe her. I think he would have if I would have let him. :)

One day David looked right at me and said, "Pee-Pee". Which he has done many times before. I sat him on the potty and sure enough he peed. YAY BIG BOY! I danced and clapped and he looked at me like I was crazy. It may have been a fluke but it was his first time peeing on the potty.

K loves helping mommy as well. He is so interested in little sissy. He sings to her, talks to her, and even reads to her. The picture below he was reading to her in my room as she was napping on the bed. He read a Tonka Truck book! :) Of course. Also, if you notice he has a huge T-shirt on over his jammies. Grandma Tricia sent us all shirts from Florida. He decided he liked mine the best and wouldn't take it off! :)

Hope you had a fantastic week as well. Happy Weekend!
