Storm

I love this song, thanks so much Jen for telling me about it. With everything we've been going through lately it really just speaks. Please continue to pray for Alabama and the devastation there. I grew up in Alabama and it holds a special place in my heart. I have many relatives (including my dad and my sister) living there, and friends who live there as well. I praise the Lord that they are all ok. Thank You Jesus for protecting my family and friends. Please be with those that have lost their relatives and homes. I pray for your peace God. I pray that You wrap them in your arms and give them strength during this difficult time. Be with them, comfort them, hold them in the palm of your hand. In Jesus' name I pray!

Easter 2011

We had a very blessed Easter this year. I am so thankful that we serve a LIVING SAVIOR. I pray your Easter was just as wonderful. If you could please keep our family in your prayers as we are still battling sickness and now an injury. Joel hurt his shoulder yesterday playing football and we are off to the doctor today to see the damage. YIKES. On a much happier note K said his Easter poem at church and made me one happy momma! :) I am so proud of him!

Johnsons List of Sick Day Essentials:

I usually put a drop of peppermint essential oil in their humidifiers at night, I think it helps the coughing although it's not a proven remedy. lol
Can't have a sick day without homemade chicken noodle soup. I like this as well because it normally last the duration of  the sickness and I can put it in the food processor for little D! :)
Blue Gatorade, one of K's favorites.
I love these little bears when my children are feverish. They are good to wrap up in a wash cloth and put on a forhead.
Here are some of our sick day treats:
Nothing makes sick days better than real fruit popsicles. YUM.
K loves Toy Story 3 right now so we have watched it a bazillion times.

We also read lots and lots of books when our kids are sick. That's probably why I get sick as well all of that snuggle time. Let me just say it's worth it.

The Baby Cage

Look at this sweetie pie. He hung out for a short while today in what we lovingly refer to as the baby cage. He didn't last long of course, because he likes to be held, but long enough for momma to do some cleaning and disinfecting. I have had a couple of sick littles the past week. Looking at his face you can tell it is passing thank goodness.
Maybe it has to do with this crazy weather we've been having! Freezing rain in April anyone? NO THANK YOU.

Problem Solved.

The Problem: We made too many chocolate chip cookies.

The solution: These cute little handmade treat bags.

I bought the treat bags from Michael's but I made the little bunting out of scrapbook paper, twine, and double sided tape. Punched two holes in the bag, (which is folded over) and tied it on the other side. I think these will make sweet little gifts. Happy Crafting!

DIY: Easter Decorations

K and I had such a fun time making these cute little Easter decorations last night. All we needed to make these were Easter candy, Easter grass, ribbon, and a couple of mason jars. I thought they turned out darling.
Here are a few more dyi projects we will be making from Martha:

A fishing we will go.

Daddy and K in the car on the way to the pond. lol

We usually bring D's pack and play and he and I hang out in the shade. He wasn't having it!
So instead we hung out in the shade and got to explore! :)

What a whopper. lol. Joel caught a lot bigger blue gill than this, but of course I had to post the smallest one just to tease! :)

Other friends at the pond that day.

Our little muscle man:

K now says, "God made dirt and dirt don't hurt." Hmmm. Wonder what brought that on?

My favorite moments together as a family have been right in this very spot. We love to go fishing, swim, and camp at Joel's grandmother's pond as often as we can. I love the peace and quiet. Do you have any special places you like to go that make you feel like the world stands still? Or any summer traditions as a family you always do? I'd love to hear about em'.

Look Whoooooos Nine Months Old

I just love this next one. I caught a sweet moment between the two of them.

Can't believe our little guy is nine months old already. Boy does time fly. I am already thinking about ideas for his one year pics, I know I'm bad. Put the camera down! :) I am so thankful for this sweet little blessing. He is such a joy.
David has such a vibrant personality.  His favorite thing to do right now is explore. He loves to touch things and try and figure out what they are and how they work. He loves K. Anything that big brother does D laughs at. K has a very special way with him. D is a snuggle bug, he loves to be held. Anything in his hands goes straight to the mouth, yum. Nine months is such a fun age with their smiles, giggles, complaints, preferences. Happy nine months D we love you.

This is my adorable little nephew B. Isn't he just as sweet as honey! I sure love him and I can't believe he's already turning 3. I am so glad that K and him get along so well. I thank God for all of my nephews. What great friends my little boys have already. Happy Birthday B. You are such a handsome, sweet, and cuddly little boy. We love you and wish we were there to celebrate with you. XOXO Uncle Joel, Aunt Beth, K, and D.
